Job Description

Substation Engineer – Protection Engineer

Education

  • BE / M.Tech Electrical

Domain Experience

  • Utilities
  • Infrastructure

Experience Required

  • 6 to 15 Years

Key Responsibilities

  • Design secondary system engineering for utility-scale substations ranging from 33kV up to 400kV / 765kV
  • Develop and review detailed Protection & Control schematics
  • Prepare and validate:
    • Single-Line Diagrams (SLD)
    • Three-Line Diagrams
    • AC/DC schematic loops
    • Control circuit wiring diagrams
    • Termination schedules
  • Perform power system fault analysis and short-circuit studies
  • Prepare engineering specifications for:
    • Protection & Control Panels (CRP)
    • Numerical Relays
    • Digital Fault Recorders (DFR)
    • Time Synchronization Units (GPS/PTP)
  • Support relay coordination and protection system studies
  • Ensure compliance with utility standards and customer requirements
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and commissioning teams
