Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Substation Civil Design Manager to lead and manage civil

design and engineering activities for substation and power projects. The role involves planning

and reviewing civil designs, drawings and structural calculations, coordinating with engineering

and project teams, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and supporting project

execution and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil design and engineering activities for substations and power

projects.

• Manage engineering activities from Concept Design, Pre-FEED/FEED through Detailed

Design.

• Prepare and review civil design basis, specifications, calculations and engineering

documents.

• Develop and review substation layouts, site grading, roads, drainage, foundations and

equipment layouts.

• Design and review foundations for transformers, GIS/AIS equipment, structures, cable

trenches and other substation equipment.

• Review structural designs for gantries, equipment support structures, control rooms and

other buildings.

• Develop and review RCC, structural steel and other civil/structural designs.

• Review soil investigation reports and incorporate geotechnical requirements into the

design.

• Ensure proper design of stormwater drainage, internal roads, fencing, retaining walls and

other infrastructure.

• Review civil drawings, BOQs, specifications and vendor drawings for technical

compliance

Ensure designs comply with applicable IS, IEC and other relevant codes and project

specifications.

• Coordinate with Electrical, Structural, Procurement, Project, Construction and other

engineering teams.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and contractors for design reviews,

technical discussions and approvals.

• Provide technical support during construction, installation and resolution of site-related

civil design issues.

• Monitor civil engineering deliverables through Design Tracker and ensure timely

completion.

• Lead and mentor the civil design team and ensure quality and timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in substation/power project civil design and engineering.

• Strong experience in substation layouts, foundations, structural design and civil

infrastructure.

• Experience in Power Transmission, Renewable Energy, Solar, BESS or EPC projects is

preferred.

• Good knowledge of relevant IS codes, design standards and construction practices.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro/ETABS or equivalent engineering software, MS

Office.

• Strong technical, leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.
