Make An Impact
Fossil Group is seeking a strategic and results-driven Subject Matter Expert (SME) - General Ledger (GL) to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in financial processes. This role will be instrumental in optimizing month-end close activities, driving financial process improvements, and strengthening governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close & Reporting: Oversee book closure, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Balance Sheet & P&L Reviews: Conduct in-depth reviews, ensuring financial integrity and compliance.
- Variance Analysis & Insights: Identify trends and provide actionable insights for management.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide documentation and resolve queries.
- Process Improvement: Lead automation and optimization initiatives in GL processes.
- Stakeholder Management: Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and Corporate teams.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure financial risk management frameworks and compliance are upheld.
- Financial Systems & Data Management: Leverage technology and financial tools to enhance reporting and analysis capabilities.
- Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Intercompany Reconciliations: Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
- Lease Accounting: Manage lease accounting and ensure adherence to applicable financial regulations.
- Operational Excellence: Identify bottlenecks and propose enhancements to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and finance; CPA/CA/CS/ICWA preferred.
- Experience: 4-6 years in General Accounting/Financial Reporting (US MNCs/Big 4 preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong accounting knowledge, variance analysis, and financial systems management.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to assess financial data and deliver insights.
- Process Optimization: Experience in automation and improving financial workflows.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Leadership & Decision Making: Ability to drive strategic initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
- Regulatory Compliance: In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and industry best practices.
