We are looking for a highly experienced
Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our Odoo Implementation projects. The SME will be responsible for ensuring accurate accounting configurations, validating financial flows, and guiding both clients and internal teams to achieve compliant and efficient financial operations within Odoo
- Accounting Configuration & Validation
- Configure and validate Odoo Accounting modules, including:
- Chart of Accounts
- Taxes (GST / VAT / TDS / Withholding)
- Fiscal positions
- Journals, payment terms, and reconciliation setup
- Ensure correct financial reporting, such as:
- Balance Sheet
- Profit & Loss
- Cash Flow Statements
- Review accounting flows across Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, and Assets to ensure financial accuracy.
- Client Advisory & Training
- Act as the accounting advisor for clients during implementation.
- Understand the client's business processes and map them correctly into Odoo.
- Conduct accounting-focused user training and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Clarify statutory and compliance-related queries during and post-implementation.
- Team Guidance & Review
- Mentor Functional Consultants and junior team members on accounting best practices.
- Review configurations done by the team and provide corrective guidance.
- Support pre-sales discussions and solution design when accounting complexity is involved.
- Quality Assurance & Governance
- Ensure accounting setups follow standard accounting principles and statutory compliance.
- Identify gaps, risks, or inconsistencies and propose corrective actions.
- Support UAT and sign off from finance stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in Accounting / Finance (CA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred).
- Strong understanding of ERP accounting concepts.
- Experience in the Odoo Accounting module is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial statements
- Taxation (GST, TDS, etc.)
- Costing & inventory valuation
- Ability to translate accounting requirements into system configurations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
