The South Extension centre in New Delhi aims to strengthen its student support ecosystem by integrating professional psychological guidance for students preparing for high-stakes competitive exams.
Role Overview
The Child Psychologist will support students in managing academic stress, performance anxiety, motivation challenges, and overall emotional well-being during their preparation for competitive examinations such as CLAT and IPMAT.
The role focuses on helping students develop resilience, effective study habits, emotional regulation, and a healthy approach to competition and academic pressure. The psychologist will work closely with students, parents, and the academic team to ensure a supportive and balanced learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Student Psychological Support
Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with students experiencing academic stress, anxiety, burnout, or motivational challenges.
Help students develop coping strategies for exam pressure and performance-related stress.
Support students in improving focus, time management, and emotional resilience.
Assessment & Intervention
Conduct basic psychological assessments to understand behavioural, emotional, or learning-related concerns.
Identify early signs of stress, anxiety, low self-confidence, or behavioural issues that may impact academic performance.
Design individualized support plans where necessary.
Workshops & Group Sessions
Conduct Workshops And Group Sessions On Topics Such As
Exam stress management
Building focus and discipline
Confidence building
Managing academic pressure
Developing growth mindset
Parent Interaction
Provide guidance to parents on how to support their children during exam preparation.
Conduct periodic parent counselling sessions when required.
Offer insights on maintaining a healthy academic environment at home.
Collaboration with Academic Team
Work closely with faculty and centre management to identify students who may benefit from psychological support.
Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the overall student well-being environment at the centre.
Help design student wellness initiatives within the centre.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Psychology (Clinical Psychology / Child Psychology / Counselling Psychology preferred).
Experience: 25 years of experience working with adolescents or school students.
Experience in academic counselling, school counselling, or educational environments is highly preferred.
Key Skills
Strong understanding of adolescent psychology and behavioural development.
Ability to address academic stress and performance-related anxiety.
Excellent listening, empathy, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to build trust with students and parents.
Strong ethical standards and confidentiality practices.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with students aged 1420 years.
Exposure to academic performance counselling or exam stress management.
Prior experience with schools, coaching institutes, or educational organizations.
