Role Description
The Student Research Supervisor is a full-time remote role responsible for guiding and overseeing student-led research projects across various disciplines. The supervisor will mentor students in designing research studies, developing proposals, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results in alignment with academic and ethical standards. Daily activities include providing feedback on research plans and drafts, monitoring project timelines, and ensuring compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other regulatory requirements. The role also involves coordinating virtual meetings, offering methodological support, facilitating access to research resources, and collaborating with faculty to maintain high-quality research outcomes. The supervisor will document project progress, support publication or presentation efforts, and contribute to continuous improvement of the university's research training programs.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills and ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Demonstrated experience in Research design, methodology, and scholarly writing.
- Proficiency in Data Collection techniques and use of common research tools or software.
- Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes and research ethics.
- Effective Project Management skills, including planning, prioritization, and tracking milestones.
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field or equivalent research experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to mentor diverse student populations.
- Experience supervising academic or student research projects in an online or remote setting is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with academic publishing, conference presentations, and grant proposal development is an asset.
