Student Counselor

About the Role

Career Bhavan is looking for Academic Counsellors to join our Sales & Admissions team. The role involves counselling prospective students and parents, understanding their academic and career goals, recommending suitable programs, and converting enquiries into admissions.

The ideal candidate has good communication skills, a target-oriented approach, and some experience in academic counselling, educational sales, customer support, or telecalling.

Key Responsibilities

• Counsel prospective students and parents through calls, online interactions, and face-to-face meetings.
• Understand student profiles and career goals to recommend suitable programs.
• Follow up with leads throughout the admission journey.
• Convert qualified leads into admissions and work towards monthly targets.
• Handle queries on programs, fees, eligibility, duration, and career opportunities.
• Maintain accurate lead, follow-up, and conversion records in the CRM.
• Coordinate with internal teams for a smooth admission and onboarding process.
• Re-engage inactive leads through consistent follow-up.
• Prepare and maintain daily sales and admission reports.

Requirements

• Any graduate.
• 1+ years of experience in academic counselling, educational sales, ed-tech, customer support, or telecalling.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
• Ability to handle leads and work towards targets.
• Basic understanding of lead management and CRM tools.
• Good follow-up and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the education, ed-tech, or training sector.
• Experience handling high-volume student enquiries.
