CSA – Student Counsellor
Purpose of Role
To provide emotional, behavioral, social, and academic counselling support to students, promoting their overall well-being, mental health, and personal development in a safe and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Student Counselling & Support
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions for students.
- Support students facing emotional, behavioral, academic, or social challenges.
- Identify students requiring special attention and develop intervention plans.
- Maintain confidential counselling records and case documentation.
Well-being & Mental Health Programs
- Conduct workshops on stress management, bullying prevention, peer relationships, and life skills.
- Promote positive mental health awareness across the school.
- Support students during examinations and transition phases.
Assessment & Intervention
- Conduct basic behavioural and emotional assessments when required.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify learning or behavioural concerns.
- Refer students to external professionals when necessary (with management approval).
Parent & Teacher Coordination
- Conduct counselling sessions with parents regarding student concerns.
- Guide teachers on classroom management strategies for specific students.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and student review meetings.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Support child protection and safeguarding policies.
- Report serious concerns to school leadership as per protocol.
- Ensure ethical and professional counselling practices.
