Job Title:Assistant Manager / Manager – Solar Design (Mechanical)

Role Overview:
This role involves leading or supporting the mechanical design and engineering of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing mounting structures, evaluating mechanical loads, and ensuring optimal system performance and durability under site-specific conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design & Engineering:
- Design module mounting structures (fixed tilt and tracking systems).
- Perform structural analysis and wind load calculations.
- Optimize mechanical layouts for cost, performance, and ease of installation.
- Prepare fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
Site Assessment & Feasibility:
- Conduct site visits to assess terrain, soil conditions, and installation feasibility.
- Recommend mechanical adaptations based on site constraints.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with civil and electrical teams for integrated system design.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for design validation and execution.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure designs meet IS, IEC, and other relevant standards.
- Prepare BOQs, design reports, and documentation for client and regulatory approvals.
Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for solar PV projects, preferably ground-mounted systems with exposure to at least 100 MW projects.
Skills & Tools:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, STAAD Pro, MS Office.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials, and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with wind tunnel testing, corrosion protection, and thermal analysis.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
