Bellatrix Aerospace is a pioneering space transportation company focused on developing advanced propulsion technologies that enable the future of space mobility. We foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence, empowering engineers to solve some of the most challenging problems in the aerospace industry.
We are looking for a Structural Dynamics Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design and development of advanced turbomachinery systems for aerospace propulsion applications. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in structural dynamics, finite element analysis (FEA), vibration analysis, and mechanical design to evaluate and optimize critical components operating under demanding static, dynamic, and thermal environments.
• Develop and execute Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to evaluate the structural performance of turbomachinery components under static, dynamic, and thermal loading conditions.
• Perform modal, harmonic, and rotordynamic analyses to identify natural frequencies, mode shapes, and critical speeds, ensuring safe operation away from resonance.
• Conduct structural and mechanical design calculations to validate component integrity and performance.
• Support design optimization for strength, stiffness, weight reduction, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and testing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to improve structural performance and durability.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, analysis documentation, and presentations to communicate engineering findings.
• Apply Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) principles in the design and development of propulsion system components.
• Stay current with advancements in structural dynamics methodologies, simulation tools, and industry best practices.
&
• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural dynamics, vibration analysis, or mechanical design within turbomachinery or a related industry.
• Experience in analyzing rotating machinery, high-speed components, or aerospace systems is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with experimental testing and performance evaluation of rotodynamic machinery systems is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of industry standards and engineering design practices.
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics, vibration theory, rotordynamics, and fatigue analysis.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS, Nastran, or equivalent simulation software.
• Experience performing modal, harmonic, transient, and thermal structural analyses.
• Ability to interpret simulation results and translate them into practical design improvements.
• Knowledge of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent technical documentation and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Work on cutting-edge propulsion technologies that are shaping the future of space transportation.
• Solve complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced and innovation-driven environment.
• Collaborate with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team of aerospace engineers and researchers.
• Gain exposure to the complete product development lifecycle, from concept through testing and qualification.
• Thrive in a culture that values innovation, ownership, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
