Role Description
- This is a full-time on-site role as a Structural Design Engineer located in Gurugram.
- As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis, applying structural engineering principles, and utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software such as ABAQUS, ArchiCAD, COMSOL Multiphysics, Extreme Loading for Structures, FEATool Multiphysics, FEMtools, FreeCAD, MicroStation, OpenSees, PROKON, Realsoft 3D, Revit, RFEM, SDC Verifier, SimScale, SketchUp, STAAD, STAAD PRO, Tekla Structures, PLPAK. AutoCAD.
- design new additions or renovations to existing structures, alongside the architects
- You may specialise in areas of structural engineering, such as: modelling and structural analysis, residential houses and extensions, seismic (securing structures against earthquakes), buildings, disaster relief (rebuilding communities), bridges, tunnels, pipelines.
- calculate factors that impact structures such as load, weather and human impact, using mathematical formulas and modelling software
- analyse configurations of the basic components of a structure
- advise on the best materials to use when building or adding to existing structures, taking into account safety, sustainability, usage and cost
- work with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction
- examine structures at risk of collapse and advise how to improve their structural integrity
- make drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for building contractors.
- Your day-to-day tasks will include designing, analyzing, and creating detailed structural drawings for various projects.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision;
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems;
- Monitors own work to ensure keeping on set schedule;
- Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity;
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer;
- The ability to work with, interpret, and apply National and Local Codes;
- Performs engineering tasks on assigned projects, including bridges and transportation structures;
- Recommends appropriate actions to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations;
- Must be technically competent in all aspects of structural engineering;
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned;
- Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions;
- Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis and Structural Engineering
- Strong background in Civil Engineering
- Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software as mention above.
- Ability to create detailed and accurate structural drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Good communication and collaboration abilities
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
- Minimum 8+ years of Pre-Engineering building design experience or Structural Steel experience
