Designation: Sr. Manager- Structural Design Engineer
Experience: 10 to 12 Years
Qualification: B.E. Civil & M. Tech (Structural Engineering)
Job Role:-
- Lead and manage the structural design of water infrastructure components, including:
a) Water and wastewater treatment plants
b) Intake structure, forebays, Pump House
c) Water storage tanks and reservoirs
d) Large-diameter pipelines and associated structures
e) Retaining walls, culverts, and structural supports2
- Perform advanced structural analysis and design in compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., BIS, ACI, AISC, ASCE, etc).
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations and reports.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, process, and electrical engineers.
- Conduct field investigations and structural assessments for existing facilities.
- Lead or support construction phase services including submittal reviews, RFIs, field inspections, and resolving design/construction issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
- Ensure designs are cost-effective, constructible, and meet quality and safety standards.
- Support project proposals, estimation, and bidding processes by providing technical inputs and scope definitions.
- To work out item wise bill of quantity of Project.
- To work out quantity estimation and bar bending schedule from drawings.
- Design approvals from government department and vetting institutes.
- Travelling on site/Government department for convincing, scrutiny & approval.
- Report writing and presentation skills is necessary.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Water Supply Scheme & Irrigation PDN projects structure designs i.e. Intake Well, Jack Well, Sump Cum Pump House, WTP, MBRs, ESRs, GSRs, Thrust blocks and Anchor blocks, etc.
- Knowledge of different types of Pipes, Valves, Pumps, design manuals and relevant IS codes.
- Proficient in structural design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, etc. and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Civil 3D.
- Good and clear communication skills.
