Job Title: Structural Design Engineer-Risa
WORK FROM HOME(5 day work week Mon to Friday)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilledStructural Design Engineer-Risawith experience in structural steel detailing and design for commercial, industrial, andwarehouse projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analysis and design of steel structures, including beams, columns, trusses, bracing systems, frames, mezzanines, and industrial platforms.
- Design steel connections (shear, moment, braced, base plates, gusset plates, splice connections) using manual calculations/software.
- Interpretarchitectural,structural, andMEP drawingsand coordinate with project engineers to resolve design issues
- Review shop drawings and coordinate with drafting teams (AutoCAD, Tekla preferred).
- Prepare design reports, calculation packages,technical clarificationsand respond to RFIs.
- Ensure compliance with project standards and QA/QC procedures.
- Performclash detection, model checks, and quality control reviews.
- Support engineers with calculations related tobase plates,simple connections, andbracing(where applicable).
SoftwareSkills
- Create andanalyze3D structural models usingSTAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, RAM Structural System, or equivalent.
- To analyse and prepare connection designs usingIDEAStatiCa, RAM Connections,Limconor equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inconnection designfor US/Canada projects.
- Experiencewith US and Canadian practices for:
- Member sizing.
- Bolt and weld detailing.
- Connection design specifications.
- Exposure to US/Canada building codes (AISC 360, AISC 341, CSA S16,IBC/NBC,seismic requirements, snow/wind loads).
- Knowledge ofRevitor BIM workflows.
