Structural Design Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Structural Design Engineer to design, analyze, and develop structural systems for building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, load analysis, structural codes, and hands-on experience with structural design and analysis software.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel, reinforced concrete (RCC), and composite structures.
- Prepare structural calculations, design reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Analyze structural systems for dead loads, live loads, wind loads, seismic loads, and other applicable loading conditions.
- Design foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, frames, and other structural components.
- Develop and review structural drawings, layouts, details, and specifications.
- Use structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or similar tools.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Review engineering drawings and ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Perform structural assessments, design checks, and engineering calculations.
- Identify design issues and provide practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Support construction teams by responding to technical queries and resolving structural design issues.
- Review structural designs prepared by other engineers and provide technical recommendations.
- Ensure projects are delivered according to required quality, safety, schedule, and engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in structural design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and design methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with RCC and/or structural steel design.
- Experience with structural analysis/design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, or SAFE.
- Strong knowledge of structural drawings and engineering calculations.
- Understanding of applicable structural design codes and standards.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Knowledge of Tekla Structures or other structural detailing/BIM tools.
- Experience with seismic and wind load analysis.
- Knowledge of ACI, ASCE, IBC, Eurocodes, or IS standards.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Professional Engineering (PE) or equivalent certification is a plus.
