About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Structural BIM Engineer/BIM Modeler with strong hands-on expertise in Autodesk Revit Structure, especially for precast, prefabricated, or repetitive reinforced concrete (RC) projects.

The ideal candidate must have practical experience developing detailed structural BIM models, reinforcement detailing, and producing Good for Construction (GFC) drawings and construction-ready documentation for live projects. Experience with precast components, reinforcement schedules, quantity extraction, and coordination with structural engineering and manufacturing teams will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural models using Autodesk Revit Structure, including grids, levels, columns, beams, walls, slabs, foundations, and structural framing.
Prepare accurate GFC drawings, reinforcement detailing, shop drawings, schedules, and construction documentation.
Create and modify parametric precast families, including connections, corbels, embeds, inserts, openings, chamfers, and joint details.
Model reinforcement elements, including rebar sets, hooks, covers, reinforcement shapes, and mesh, and generate bar bending schedules (BBS).
Prepare drawing sheets, view templates, dimensions, annotations, tags, callouts, legends, and revision schedules in accordance with project standards.
Generate schedules, material quantities, and BOQ data for concrete, reinforcement, precast elements, and associated accessories.
Coordinate federated BIM models and resolve clashes using Navisworks or equivalent coordination tools.
Work with structural engineers and multidisciplinary teams to address design changes, RFIs, and coordination issues.
Ensure models consider precast manufacturing, casting, stripping, stacking, transportation, and crane-handling requirements.
Maintain model quality through health checks, work sharing, file management, naming conventions, and cloud collaboration platforms.
Manage CAD and IFC interoperability and ensure accurate exchange of project information.

Required Technical Skills

1. Autodesk Revit Structure

Strong expertise in structural modelling, including grids, levels, framing, columns, walls, floors, foundations, families, worksets, linked models, phasing, and design options.
Ability to develop, edit, and manage parametric and loadable families.

2. Precast and Reinforcement Modelling

Hands-on experience with precast, prefabricated, or repetitive RC structures.
Knowledge of precast connections, embeds, inserts, joints, corbels, openings, and component detailing.
Practical knowledge of reinforcement modelling, rebar shapes, hooks, covers, reinforcement layouts, and bar bending schedules.

3. GFC Drawings and Documentation

Proven experience preparing construction-ready GFC drawing sets using Revit for live projects.
Proficiency in sheets, annotations, detailing, schedules, quantity extraction, and drawing revisions.

4. BIM Coordination and Model Management

Experience with Navisworks or equivalent clash detection and coordination tools.
Knowledge of linked models, CAD/IFC files, issue tracking, RFI resolution, worksharing, model health checks, and central-file management.
Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, or equivalent platforms is desirable.

5. Structural Standards and Manufacturing Awareness

Working knowledge of relevant reinforced concrete and precast detailing codes and standards, such as IS 456, IS 15916, IS 13920, ACI 318, PCI guidelines, or Eurocode 2, as applicable to the project.
Understanding of precast manufacturing, casting, stripping, stacking, transportation, lifting, and shop drawing requirements.

6. Additional Software Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD and handling DWG, IFC, and PDF files.
Working knowledge of MS Excel for schedules, quantities, and BOQ preparation.
Good written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and coordination.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering is preferred or ITI Draftsmen with 6 to 8 years of relevant structural modeling experience.
Experience: 5–6 years of relevant hands-on experience in structural BIM modelling using Revit Structure.
Project Experience: At least 2 years of experience working on precast, prefabricated, or highly repetitive reinforced concrete projects.
Essential Requirement: Demonstrable experience (Portfolio) preparing and delivering GFC drawings for actual construction projects using Revit.
Candidates with experience at reputed Indian or international structural engineering consultancies are preferred.

Preferred Candidate Background

Candidates currently or previously associated with structural engineering consultancies, BIM service providers, precast engineering firms, and construction engineering teams are encouraged to apply.

Professionals with relevant experience at firms such as Arup, WSP, AtkinsRéalis, Thornton Tomasetti, Walter P Moore, Mace, Mahimtura Consultants, JW Consultants, G. A. Bhilare Consultants, or similar organisations will be considered.

Important Screening Criteria

Hands-on GFC delivery experience is mandatory. Candidates must be able to demonstrate practical involvement in structural modelling, detailing, and construction documentation for live projects. Academic projects, presentation-only models, or basic Revit training without relevant project execution experience will not be sufficient.
