Job Description

Strategy & Partnerships Associate

DAVA Oncology · India (Remote)

The group

DAVA Oncology is a Dallas-based oncology group. We design and run the medical education programs where academic thought leaders, community oncologists, and biopharma teams actually talk to each other, an invitation-only portfolio of international summits across the major tumor types plus a national calendar of live and virtual peer-to-peer programs.

The role

Twenty years of steady growth have earned DAVA a strong franchise and a bigger ambition: new program formats, new markets, and deeper partnerships with the biopharma companies we serve. To catalyze that next phase, we are standing up a dedicated strategy team, and this is the founding seat. The mandate is to make a successful company even more deliberate: sharper pricing, well-chosen new lines of business, and rigorous analysis behind the decisions that matter.

You will report directly to our Director of Strategy & Partnerships (Stanford MBA). We're a flat organization: analysis you finish on Tuesday is in front of the CEO on Friday and shapes a real pricing, product, or client decision that week.

What you will do
  • Pricing strategy. Cost models, fully loaded competitive benchmarks, margin analysis by product line. Put evidence behind every number.
  • Market and competitive intelligence. Track oncology, biopharma, and medical education: drug launches, competitor offerings, who is spending on education and why.
  • Business cases. Size new opportunities and write the white paper that decides whether we build them.
  • Client ROI analysis. Quantify what our programs do for a sponsor's brand, the analysis that turns a one-time client into a standing budget line.
  • Proposals and marketing. Client-ready proposals and decks, and the foundations of a proper marketing function: positioning, brand, re-engagement of past clients.

We use AI tooling heavily, Claude and Codex daily, and will hand you the best tools available. Your value is the judgment on top of the machines: which question to ask, what the model got wrong, what is actually true. Working hours overlap substantially with the US day, so expect an afternoon-to-late-evening India schedule. The team is small, tenure is long, and the people who thrive here treat the business as their own.

Who we are looking for

Required

  • MBA from a leading, highly selective institution with a strong placement record.
  • Roughly two to five years in strategy consulting, corporate strategy or development, investment banking, private equity, or a comparable analytical role. Exceptional recent graduates will be considered.
  • Fluency in financial modeling, market sizing, and valuation, and the ability to compress a large messy question into one clear page.

Preferred

  • A marketing focus in your MBA: branding, pricing, go-to-market.
  • Exposure to healthcare, pharma, or biotech. Desirable, not required. We can teach you oncology; we cannot teach judgment.

One thing we mean literally: write your own application. We use AI enough to know its fingerprints, and AI-written CVs and cover notes are not considered.

Practical details
  • Location: Remote, based in India. Major metros preferred: Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune.
  • Type: Full-time, with substantial US-hours overlap. Occasional travel possible.

To apply
  • Send a CV and a short note, written by you, on how a premium services business should decide what to charge, to [Confidential Information].
