About Strategic Programs
The Strategic Program department focuses on the bank's transformational priorities, improve its execution excellence, increase momentum on key signature initiatives to achieve the desired growth and deliver on the GPS strategy and its aspirations. Strategic Programs also plays a critical role in identifying business opportunities and its realization through strategically important projects across the bank.
AbouttheRole

We are in search of a lead who will drive the implementation of the top priority projects for the bank. The person will lead the project management team to ensure projects assigned are executed with high quality of design thinking, as per plan, within budgetand achieve the required objectives.

The individual will periodically report out to the Board and the ManCom on the status of the identified projects. This is a role with a high degree of visibility and interface with senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the project management team and drive projects (in partnership with the project sponsor and his / her team) to ensure that the projects are being executed with high quality of design thinking, as per plan, within budget and achieve the required objectives.
  • Guide team members and business teams to create the project charter covering objectives, duration, estimated cost, ROE/impact justification and teams involved with their roles & responsibilities.
  • Should be able to drive projects in collaboration with multiple stakeholders (Ops/Product/Sales/IT etc.) for end-to-end implementation (from defining problem statement/opportunities till delivery of project).
  • Review project plan with execution roadmap with clear milestones and expected outcomes at each milestone to enable quantitative/qualitative assessment at a set periodicity.
  • Resolve bottlenecks in decision making by fast-tracking discussions among stakeholders or seeking additional support where required.
  • Set up project governance mechanism to facilitate transparent reporting/reviews at appropriate level to monitor progress, resolve interdependences and address issues/risks.
Role Proficiencies:

Experience

  • 15+ years in banking domain and / or experience in driving change management with experience of implementation of large-scale transformation / business projects
  • Experience in project/program management techniques and methods, change management.
  • Conversant with best practices related to design thinking, driving execution and benefit realization

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to lead, drive & motivate teams.
  • Practitioner's knowledge of change management principles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Attitude and aptitude to solve problems in a collaborative manner
  • Proficient with excel, word and strong presentation skills
