Job Summary

We are seeking talented, tech‑savvy Team Leads to lead our Center of Excellence (COE) in Hyderabad, responsible for configuring and setting up Strada Pay payroll solution for our countries and clients.

Based in Strada Global Hyderabad office, the Team Lead – COE will lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team that delivers complex payroll reports, calculation rules, and country‑ and client‑specific configurations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high‑quality, scalable payroll solutions across our global footprint.

These roles are designed to support our global operating model. These positions will operate in shifts, with coverage aligned to APJ, EMEA, and Americas time zones, ensuring effective collaboration and support for stakeholders across regions.

This is a high‑impact role focused on capability building, structured learning, and delivery excellence to support the continued scaling of Strada Pay's global payroll engine. You will shape the team culture, establish strong technical foundations, and guide the professional growth of each team member, while maintaining clear accountability for team delivery and outcomes in partnership with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Capability Development
  • Build and lead a team, providing hands-on coaching, daily guidance, and continuous feedback.
  • Execute a structured onboarding and upskilling program (8–12 weeks) covering payroll fundamentals, Strada Pay configuration, reporting logic, testing, and quality practices.
  • Conduct regular skills assessments, track progress, and define clear development milestones for each analyst.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment where people feel encouraged to ask questions, learn, and experiment
  • Provide day-to-day directions, coaching, and mentoring
  • Set clear performance expectations, ensuring accountability for quality, accuracy, efficiency, and delivery timelines.
  • Build a culture of innovation, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Direction & COE Execution
  • Guide the team in delivering high-quality, well-tested configuration rules, reports, and country/client logic.
  • Break down complex tasks into manageable components suited for early-career contributors.
  • Review, validate, and sign off on all team outputs before handover to Product, Implementation, or QA teams.
  • Establish strong coding/configuration standards, naming conventions, documentation norms, and review checklists.
  • Ensure rigorous documentation, version control, configuration libraries, and reusable assets.
  • Operational Excellence & Delivery Governance
  • Develop lightweight, repeatable processes that help graduates work efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure the team meets delivery timelines while maintaining high quality and compliance.
  • Implement quality gates including peer reviews, leader reviews, unit tests, and regression checks.
  • Own issue triage, RCA (root cause analysis), and continuous-learning loops for recurring problems.
  • Maintain consistency of global payroll design while allowing for local statutory variations.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment & Collaboration
  • Act as the primary connection point between COE and global teams (Product, Engineering, Implementation, Country Champions).
  • Plan capacity, prioritize work, and allocate resources across competing client and platform demands.
  • Escalate risks early and provide transparent status updates to global stakeholders.
  • Foster a one global team culture despite geographical distribution.

Required

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in global payroll, HR tech, SaaS configuration, or similar fields.
  • 2+ years of experience managing, mentoring, or training talent (graduates or early‑career).
  • Strong understanding of payroll calculation rules, statutory logic, and reporting structures.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, functions, and data handling
  • Proven ability to simplify complex technical topics and teach them effectively.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and people development skills.
  • Experience coordinating work across global teams, time zones, and stakeholders.
  • Role will require working European or American Shift

Preferred

  • Prior experience building a team in a shared‑services center.
  • Experience with Payroll be this Strada IP or Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with structured learning design, L&D programs, or training curricula.
  • Background in quality frameworks, automation tools, or analytics is a plus.
