About The Opportunity
We are hiring an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead a high-performing store team in India. This on-site leadership role is ideal for a results-driven retail professional who can combine commercial acumen with operational discipline to maximise sales, control costs, and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive store sales and profitability: set weekly/monthly targets, monitor KPIs, and implement action plans to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Own end-to-end store operations: ensure smooth opening/closing, cash reconciliations, POS accuracy, and compliance with company SOPs and local regulations.
- Lead and develop the store team: recruit, train, coach, and motivate staff to deliver high service standards and achieve individual and team targets.
- Manage inventory & merchandising: execute visual merchandising standards, planogram compliance, stock replenishment, and regular cycle counts to minimise shrinkage.
- Control costs & P&L responsibilities: optimise labour scheduling, control overheads, and support store-level budgeting and reporting activities.
- Protect brand & customer experience: resolve escalations, implement loss-prevention measures, and foster a safe, welcoming store environment.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 37 years of retail experience with at least 2 years in a store manager or assistant manager role in a similar retail environment.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing store KPIs (sales, conversion, AOV, footfall).
- Strong people leadership skillshiring, coaching, performance management, and building high-engagement teams.
- Hands-on experience with POS systems, cash handling, inventory control, and basic store-level accounting.
- Excellent communication skills in English and local language; ability to handle customer escalations professionally.
Preferred
- Experience with retail ERP or inventory management tools and familiarity with GST/billing compliance in India.
- Background in visual merchandising, planogram execution, or promotional event management.
