We are hiring for a Storage, Backup & Cyber Resiliency SME / Lead Engineer with strong hands-on experience in enterprise storage, backup, VMware, AWS Cloud, and cyber resiliency.

Role Summary

We are looking for a strong Storage, Backup and Cyber Resiliency SME with hands-on experience across on-premises, colocation, VMware, AWS, VMC on AWS, NetApp, Dell/EMC storage, and enterprise backup environments.

The candidate should be able to assess the current storage and backup landscape, identify operational gaps, support cloud migration initiatives, improve service resiliency and transparency, optimize utilization and costs, and reduce dependency on external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and document storage, backup, cyber recovery, VMware, cloud, and colocation environments across APAC, EMEA, and North America.
• Work with vendor, cloud, VMware, application, and internal teams to clarify ownership and resolve operational gaps.
• Perform storage administration including provisioning, capacity planning, utilization monitoring, performance analysis, allocation, expansion, and day-to-day support.
• Manage backup administration, restore operations, retention policies, backup failures, and long-term retention requirements.
• Support migration from legacy colocation and VMware environments to AWS, VMC on AWS, EC2, FSx for ONTAP, and potentially GCP.
• Implement and support cyber resiliency capabilities including immutable backups, cyber vaulting, clean-room recovery, isolated recovery environments, data scanning, and RTO/RPO validation.
• Drive cost optimization through storage allocation, snapshot retention, backup utilization, infrastructure sizing, and platform optimization.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation using Terraform or similar tools.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in enterprise storage and backup administration.
• Strong experience with NetApp Storage and FSx for ONTAP.
• Experience with NAS file shares, on-premises file servers, and cloud-based file storage.
• Experience with Dell/EMC platforms such as Unity, Isilon, VMAX, or PowerMax.
• Strong understanding of enterprise backup technologies.
• Experience with tools/platforms such as Cohesity, Rubrik, Commvault, Dell backup solutions, or similar.
• Experience with VMware, VMC on AWS, EC2, EBS, instance sizing, scaling, and utilization optimization.
• Strong understanding of cyber recovery, disaster recovery, immutable backup, cyber vault, clean-room recovery, and isolated restore testing.
• Knowledge of backup retention, restore procedures, compliance requirements, RTO/RPO, and data recovery governance.
• Working knowledge of Terraform or similar infrastructure automation tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in insurance, banking, financial services, or other regulated environments.
• Exposure to GCP transformation/migration programs.
• Experience reducing vendor dependency through internal documentation, ownership clarity, and operational improvements.
• Familiarity with DORA or similar resiliency/regulatory requirements.
• Ability to support both hands-on technical operations and advisory discussions around migration, cost optimization, resiliency, and operating models.
