Storage Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Proficient experience with IBM SSS 6000 Ceph on Lenovo ThinkSystem SR665 Dell Unity 600 Dell Unity 450F VNX 5600 Isilon and VPLEX VS6 storage systems
• Knowledge of storage protocols and technologies including SAN and NAS
• Familiarity with storage virtualization and data deduplication
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Relevant certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional or equivalent are a plus
• Responsibilities
• Storage Administration
• Configure maintain and optimize Ceph based storage IBM SSS 6000 Dell Unity 600 Dell Unity 450F VNX 5600 Isilon and VPLEX VS6 storage systems
• Perform routine storage provisioning and allocation tasks
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization
• Monitor storage performance and respond to alerts to ensure optimal operation
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance storage efficiency and performance
• Data Protection and Disaster Recovery
• Establish and maintain data protection strategies including backups and replication
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
• Diagnose and resolve storage related problems promptly
• Collaborate with team members to address complex storage issues
• Capacity Planning
• Assess storage capacity needs and recommend scaling or upgrades as necessary
• Monitor storage utilization trends and plan for future storage requirements
• Documentation
• Maintain accurate documentation of storage configurations procedures and troubleshooting guidelines
• Keep records of changes made to storage environments
• Collaboration
• Work closely with other IT teams including networking virtualization and application teams to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions with broader IT infrastructure
• Vendor Interaction
• Communicate with IBM Lenovo Dell vendors for technical support hardware replacements and firmware updates
