Primary Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Maintenance of Dishware:
- Ensure the cleanliness of all kitchenware, tableware, and utensilsOperate dishwashing machines or clean manually as needed.
- o Sort and organize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans after cleaning.
- Sanitation and Hygiene:
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and storage areas.
- Ensure proper waste disposal, including recyclables, food waste, and general waste.
- o Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, including those set by local health authorities.
- Stock and Inventory Management:
- Monitor the kitchens inventory of cleaning supplies, dishware, and utensils.
- Assist with ordering supplies and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Conduct periodic stock checks to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Assist with Kitchen Operations:
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining the flow of dishes and equipment.
- Assist chefs and other kitchen staff with non-food preparation tasks.
- Aid in setting up and breaking down kitchen or dining areas for events or service.
- Equipment Care:
- Ensure kitchen equipment is kept in good working condition, reporting any damage or malfunctions to management.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed, like replacing filters or cleaning vents.
- Teamwork and Supervision:
- Work under the supervision of the head steward or stewarding supervisor.
- Provide guidance and training to other junior stewards or cleaning staff.
- Collaborate with kitchen, wait staff, and other departments to ensure smoothoperations.
Skills And Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience in kitchen or hospitality roles is preferred.
Hotel Management Degree is must.
