Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Steward role based at GREENR in Mumbai. The Steward will support day-to-day cafe operations, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the dining and kitchen areas, organizing and replenishing service stations, and ensuring dishes, cutlery, and glassware are washed, dried, and stored properly. The role includes assisting the Food & Beverage and service teams during busy hours by clearing tables, resetting covers, and helping with basic food service tasks as needed. The Steward will follow all safety and sanitation standards, handle equipment responsibly, and coordinate with the team to ensure smooth, efficient service. The position involves working flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support cafe operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills to support guests and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Hands-on experience or strong interest in food & beverage and food service operations, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
  • Ability to learn and follow training related to hygiene, safety, and standard operating procedures.
  • Attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail in back-of-house and front-of-house areas.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry items safely, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, respectful attitude and a willingness to support a plant-based, sustainability-focused concept.
  • Prior experience as a Steward or similar role is an advantage but not mandatory; openness to learning is essential.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices is preferred.
