STEEL WELDER
Experience : 5 to 7-year Job Description: • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification. • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements. • Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols). • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards. • Inspect welds for accuracy. • Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, and cutting steel parts as needed. • A good knowledge about working with different types of steel forms such as I beams, angles, channels, tubes, sheets etc. • Ability to identify and measure material. • Plan the welding work to be executed within the allotted time. • Must be able to set and operate ARC/MIG/TIG Welding Machines. • Ability to weld stainless steel and aluminum with TIG welding shall be considered as an added advantage. • Full weld steel products such as steel structures, steel table frames, steel doors and frames, steel handrails etc. • Installation at sites. • To be able work under heavy work load at certain times. • Show an attitude and keenness towards learning something new always. • Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic. Key Skills required; • Practical experience in three types of welding (TIG, MIG & ARC). • Must have good experience in welding steel structures, Steel Doors & Frames, steel Hand Rails and Cabinets. • Sound knowledge in reading and understanding shop drawings for fabrication in English. • Should have good knowledge about the requirements of different welding positions such as 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and 6G. • Good understanding of Steel material behavior especially under heat of welding and the knowledge of using appropriate fabrication techniques to avoid or minimize such distortions. • Welding quality should meet the required welding codes with consistent bead formation and non-existence of blow holes. • Previous certification from a certified body as 3G,4G or 6G welder will be considered an added advantage. • To be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
