Job Description

A State Technical Manager in banking manages technical aspects of property and loan valuations, ensures compliance with regulations like those from the RBI, and oversees technical teams and vendors. Responsibilities include managing technical evaluations for loans, reviewing property assessments, and coordinating with credit, risk, and legal departments. The role requires strong technical knowledge in real estate valuation, vendor management, process adherence, and stakeholder communication.

Key responsibilities:

  • Technical evaluation and management: Lead the technical evaluation of loan proposals, including property inspections, valuations, and legal verifications.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure all technical processes, data, and valuations comply with internal policies and regulatory guidelines, such as those from the RBI.
  • Vendor and partner management: Identify, empanel, and manage external technical agencies or values, ensuring performance and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Process improvement: Monitor technical processes, analyze reports, and identify patterns to improve efficiency, consistency, and adherence to standards.
  • Stakeholder coordination: Work with credit, risk, legal, and operations teams to ensure smooth and timely loan processing and decision-making.
  • Team leadership: Train and guide regional technical teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality in assessments.
  • Reporting and analysis: Analyze MIS reports, technical rejection criteria, and market practices. Monitor performance metrics and conduct market analysis.
