Job Summary**
The State Credit Manager - LAP will be responsible for overseeing all credit functions for Loan Against Property (LAP) products across the assigned state, ensuring adherence to credit policies, managing risk, and achieving portfolio quality targets.

Job Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures specifically for LAP products within the state, aligning with national guidelines.
- Lead and manage a team of credit managers and officers, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Analyze and approve LAP proposals within assigned credit limits, ensuring thorough due diligence and risk assessment.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signals, and implement proactive measures to mitigate credit risk.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to support business growth while maintaining credit quality.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal credit norms.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of credit processes and decisions to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present credit reports and performance summaries to senior management.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, such as credit bureaus and legal counsel, as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in credit management, with at least 3-5 years specifically in LAP or mortgage lending.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a credit team.
- In-depth knowledge of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and loan underwriting principles for LAP products.
- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing lending in the state.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in credit management software and MS Office Suite.
