Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Underwriting & Decisioning

  • Lead credit underwriting for the portfolio across the state.
  • Evaluate complex credit proposals based on financial, business, banking, and bureau assessments.
  • Approve credit proposals within delegated authority and recommend higher-value cases as per approval matrix.
  • Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and risk frameworks.

Portfolio Quality & Risk Management

  • Monitor portfolio health, delinquency trends, and early warning indicators.
  • Drive initiatives to improve portfolio quality and minimize credit losses.
  • Analyze default patterns and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure robust risk assessment and fraud prevention practices.

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Legal, Technical, and Credit teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Balance growth with prudent risk management.
  • Support product launches, policy implementation, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on structuring credit proposals for viable business opportunities.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the state credit team.
  • Monitor individual and team performance through defined KPIs.
  • Conduct regular training on underwriting standards, policy updates, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Build a high-performance, customer-focused credit team.

Policy & Process Governance

  • Ensure consistent implementation of credit policies across branches.
  • Recommend policy enhancements based on market feedback and portfolio analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance underwriting quality and turnaround time.
