Role Description This is a full-time, on-site State Collection Manager role based out of Salem. The State Collection Manager will oversee end-to-end collections operations for assigned products and branches within the state, ensuring portfolio health and adherence to collection targets. Responsibilities include planning and implementing collection strategies, monitoring daily collection performance, and managing field and tele-calling collection teams. The person in this role will track delinquencies, reduce non-performing assets (NPA), and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory norms, and fair collection practices. The State Collection Manager will coordinate closely with branch managers, credit and operations teams, and external agencies, while preparing regular MIS reports, analyzing trends, and recommending process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Strong collections and recovery management experience, including exposure to secured and unsecured lending products such as gold loans and MSME loans.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate field and tele-collection teams, including performance monitoring, coaching, and target setting.
  • Solid skills in portfolio analysis, delinquency tracking, NPA reduction, and reporting (MIS, dashboards, trend analysis).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with a firm yet empathetic customer approach.
  • Sound understanding of NBFC operations, RBI and regulatory guidelines, and fair/ethical collection practices.
  • Strong planning, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on results and accountability.
  • Comfort with using digital tools, collection systems, and basic MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for tracking and reporting.
  • Relevant experience in collections or credit risk in financial services, preferably in NBFCs or banks, with state-level or multi-branch responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, commerce, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in finance or risk will be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel within the state as required to review branch performance, support field teams, and handle critical cases.
