Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a State Business Head – Business Correspondent Vertical. The State Business Head will lead and expand the Business Correspondent (BC) network within the state, including planning, onboarding, and managing BC partners and field teams. Responsibilities include driving loan business volumes, ensuring portfolio quality, setting and monitoring sales targets, and implementing strategies for customer acquisition and retention. The role involves close coordination with internal teams such as credit, operations, risk, and technology to ensure smooth processes and compliance with regulatory and company policies. The State Business Head will also analyze market trends, prepare performance reports, and provide regular updates to senior management while fostering a culture of ethical conduct and customer-centric service.

Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen and experience in branch or state-level leadership, preferably in NBFCs, microfinance, or the Business Correspondent ecosystem.
  • Proven sales and distribution skills, including target setting, team management, channel development, and portfolio growth.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to build relationships, resolve issues promptly, and maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Competence in research and analysis to understand state-level markets, identify opportunities, and monitor competitor activities.
  • Clear and effective writing and communication skills for reporting, stakeholder coordination, and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; a postgraduate degree or MBA is an advantage.
  • Experience managing multi-location teams and channel partners, with strong people management and coaching capabilities.
  • Familiarity with digital lending platforms, basic MS Office tools, and comfort working with data and MIS reports.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines applicable to NBFCs and Business Correspondents is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within the state as required for field visits, partner meetings, and branch support.
