About the Role :
Newton School of Technology (NST) partners with high-growth startups and tech companies to build strong internship and hiring pipelines.
We are looking for a Startup Sales Development Representative (SDR) who can help us build and scale our outbound engine. This is not a templated outreach role - we're looking for someone who can think, experiment, and build smart positioning for different ICPs.
If you enjoy figuring out what messaging works, experimenting with tools, and breaking into high-growth companies, this role is for you.
What You'll Own :
- Outbound Strategy & Execution
- Identify and segment ICPs across startups and tech companies.
- Build targeted LinkedIn and email outreach campaigns.
- Craft personalized messaging based on company stage, hiring patterns, and pain points.
- Continuously test positioning and iterate based on response rates.
- Tool Stack & Automation
- Work with tools like Lusha, HubSpot, Tracxn, Instantly, Dripify (or similar).
- Build lead lists and manage CRM hygiene.
- Experimentation & Positioning
- Identify unconventional approaches to improve response rates.
- Develop different positioning angles for different ICPs.
- Analyze campaign performance and optimize based on data.
- Company Engagement
- Initiate conversations with founders, HR leaders, and hiring managers.
- Qualify leads and create strong handoffs to the Partnerships team.
- Build early-stage relationships through smart follow-ups.
What We're Looking For :
- 0 - 2 years in SDR, outbound sales, growth, or startup roles.
- Strong written communication skills (email + LinkedIn).
- Comfort working with sales automation and prospecting tools (or ability to learn fast).
- Analytical mindset - understands campaigns, metrics, and iteration.
- High ownership and bias for experimentation.
- Curious, resourceful, and execution-driven.
