We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help build a next-generation AI-first Variable Compensation platform that transforms how organizations design, manage, and distribute performance-based pay at scale.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Finance, HR, Distributed Systems, AI, and Large-Scale Platform Engineering while solving highly complex technical and business challenges.

What You'll Work On
. Architect and build internet-scale distributed systems handling millions of compensation payouts
. Design highly flexible rules engines supporting complex compensation structures
. Build resilient, high-availability financial systems with extreme accuracy requirements
. Develop AI-driven compensation workflows and explainability layers
. Design scalable APIs, workflow systems, orchestration engines, and ledgers
. Build streaming and analytical platforms for large-scale financial processing
. Drive observability, resiliency, and operational excellence across systems
. Mentor engineering teams and define technical best practices

What We're Looking For
. 9+ years of software engineering experience
. Deep expertise in distributed systems and scalable architecture
. Strong hands-on coding and technical leadership capabilities
. Experience designing high-availability and resilient systems
. Expertise in observability, streaming, and cloud-native platforms
. Strong mentoring and cross-functional collaboration skills
. Ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
