As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing Guidewire's multi-tenant cloud platform. You'll tackle complex engineering challenges, contribute to the evolution of our cloud infrastructure, and help shape the future of insurance technology. Job Description

What you'll do

  • Develop Multi-Tenant Cloud Platform that caters to running all Guidewire applications and services (Refer: https://medium.com/guidewire-engineering-blog/guidewire-cloud-why-hybrid-tenancy-is-the-right-choice-56a0ff176032, https://medium.com/guidewire-engineering-blog/guidewire-cloud-why-hybrid-tenancy-is-the-right-choice-part-2-of-2-ba22c9888bb8
  • Deeply involved in design and development of GWCP/ATMOS - infrastructure as code using technologies such as EKS (Kubernetes), Terraform, Golang. In addition handle Observability of the Platform (logs, metrics and traces).   • Design and develop Platform services that solves problems such as Developer Experience, Authentication, Authorization using Java, Spring Boot
  • Engineer quality, scalability, availability, and security into your code
  • Employ TDD - Test driven development, to protect your products with the assurances of automated testing with Test first culture
  • Deploy containerized applications to AWS through your Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment

Required

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
  • 10+ years of experience in SaaS/PaaS environments for large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Golang, Python, or equivalent.
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker or equivalent) in a cloud ecosystem
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, Serverless) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Proficiency with Linux and the Java/Spring Boot ecosystem.
  • Team-first attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for learning new technologies.
  • Comfort working in an agile, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with observability tools and log management in distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.
