Job Description Summary
ModMed is hiring a driven Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of ModMed's Klara Team, one of our fastest-growing shared platforms. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of talented individuals and influence the architecture and technical direction of a highly available, high-traffic, robust cloud based platform within a fast-paced Healthcare IT company that is truly Modernizing Medicine!
Your Role
- Lead architectural and design efforts using .NET technologies, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with business goals.
- Set the technical vision and drive high engineering standards within the team.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define and maintain a clear technical roadmap.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical deliverables and milestones.
- Own the quality of deliverables by ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security, reliability).
- Drive iterative improvements through design, code, and operational reviews.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies where appropriate to keep our stack modern and efficient.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or staff engineer role.
- Deep expertise in C#/.NET Core, ASP.NET, and related Microsoft technologies.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server/PostgreSQL) and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native solutions, preferably on Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) is a plus.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred.
- Proven success leading high-impact engineering initiatives and mentoring engineers.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience in healthcare is a strong plus.
