Impact & Contribution

As a Staff Software Engineer within Payments Technology - HV & IP, you are expected to develop solutions and guide design to drive outcomes across the Core Product Systems within High Value & Internation Payments (HV & IP) Crew. You are responsible for design analysis and the estimation process from Business Case, ideation, discovery and inception phases.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead high performing API and Cloud Engineering teams

• Ownership and governance of solution designs

• Adopt a Design to Run mentality to architect robust solutions that are fully supportable in a production environment

• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, and mentoring of senior engineers.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Delivery Leads to align technical solutions with business goals.

• Champion DevSecOps practices and continuous delivery pipelines.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards in all engineering deliverables.

• Provide developmental advice and consult for business case/ideation, discovery, inception and enhancement requests by examining current vs target architectures ensuring align with ES strategy and architecture standards

• Collaborate with upstream and downstream system representatives to ensure an integrated end to end solution is delivered to achieve the desired outcomes

• Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement of Core Product systems and data to leverage existing capabilities

Essential Skills

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering.

• 3+ years in Staff Engineer role.

• Good knowledge and experience on SWIFT application [SWIFT ISO 20022 migration, SWIFT message format, SWIFT translator, SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG), Alliance Web Platform (AWP)]

• Good knowledge and hand on experience on Finastra - GPH product.

• Work experience in payments domain preferably in Australian Payments domain.

• Lead design discussions in developing robust systems.

• Excellent debugging skills with ability to solve complex technical issues.

• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices etc.

• Experience in Cloud platforms (AWS Lambda, EKS, API Gateway, etc.).

• Experience in developing and deploying CI/CD strategies, operating and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Artifactory etc.

• Experience with Infrastructure as code and automating manual tasks.

• Ability to collaborate with other teams to integrate Cloud best practises and AI solutions into existing workflows and systems to make sure resiliency and high availability of application platform.

• Implement strong technical coding standards and contribute extensively to code reviews.

• Logging & Monitoring: CloudWatch, Grafana and Prometheus.

• Have good understanding of Databases (Oracle, Cloud DBs)

• Have good understanding of networking, preferably on Cloud.

• Mentoring and coaching capabilities, able to influence practices and mindsets in the crew.

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's degree/master's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology or any similar stream
