Staff Software Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to help scale and strengthen our engineering organization. This role focuses on designing and delivering robust backend systems, improving engineering practices, and driving technical excellence across distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and backend applications.
• Contribute to architecture, API design, and technical decision-making.
• Improve system performance, resilience, fault tolerance, and maintainability.
• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and production support processes.
• Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Cloud, Operations, and external vendor teams.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.).
• Experience building and supporting production-grade microservices.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Exposure to React and TypeScript.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
