Job Description

JD-STAFF R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for connector product development/extension/ existing product maintenance.
  • Work closely with customer/sales/PM in getting the right and clear VOC (voice of customer), make engineering evaluation/proposal to the VOC
  • Follow up with TE LeanPD process (new development process), conduct the mandatory and optional engineering practices (PRD, QFD, DFMEA, etc.).
  • Provide concept / design and feasibility study, design review meeting, documentation, drawing / spec / necessary engineering documents release and archive.
  • Lead in resolving the issues down to the closure and manage design & engineering changes.
  • Technical support to customer, conduct necessary test, engineering analysis. Interacts with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas for working alignment.
  • Hands-on try-out in customer side or lab for getting feasible technical proposal, problem/issues solving, new solutions. Demonstrate TE solution with solid samples and prototypes or professional engineering reports.
  • Judging manufacturing deviations and make decisions on deviation acceptance
  • Work with FAI approvals, Process Capability Study, 8D report and 5 WHY analysis.
  • Periodically engineering review and report
  • Domestic / oversea business travel if needed.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Requirements for a typical Job Holder / Applicant

  • B.E. above majored in electronics engineering or related field required
  • 8+ years working experience of connectors.
  • Good hands-on working experience, willing and keen for hands-on work
  • Experience in product development of connectors is highly preferred
  • Excellent English (oral and written) communication skill to interact with cross-functional global team
  • Extensive knowledge about molding, stamping, plating and auto assembly processes associated to miniature sized products will be a plus.
  • Abundant knowledge in material usage, industry standard, and international application.
  • Proficient to use Pro/E software with solid working experience, FEA simulation skills (Ansys, Ansoft HFSS Mold flow) will be a plus.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Willing to communicate proactively with good communication skills in English (oral and written) in order to correctly understand customer requirement and conveying engineering information.
  • Good presentation skills with usage of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Basic skill of office software such as Word, Excel, PPT, etc.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, willingness/ability to deal with multiple product and assigned tasks.
  • RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) and/or DFSS Black Belt certifications are preferred.
  • SIL and/or UL certificate experience are preferred
