As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

Are you looking for a role in an exciting, fastpaced clinical environment where no two days are the same Our Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) is looking for motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our dynamic team.

About The Unit

Our MAU is a 24bedded acute assessment area, with the ability to flex up to 30 beds depending on service demand. We provide highquality, rapid assessment and treatment for acutely unwell adults, receiving patients directly from:

  • Emergency Department (ED)
  • Ambulatory Assessment Unit (AAU)
  • Outpatient clinics
  • Repatriations from out-of-area hospitals

This is a fast-moving and rewarding clinical setting where you will develop strong acute medical nursing skills and be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking nurses who are:

  • Registered with the NMC and hold a valid UK NMC PIN
  • Experienced in working within the NHS in an acute setting, ideally within medical specialties
  • Passionate about providing safe, personcentred care
  • Confident in supervising nursing and paramedic students
  • Able to work effectively in a busy assessment environment
