Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer / Staff GenAI Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven platforms and products. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with architectural ownership and client-facing consulting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

AI/ML & Platform Engineering

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable backend systems integrating machine learning and Generative AI models into production-grade applications.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of GenAI solutions, including LLM-based systems, RAG architectures, and agentic workflows, from experimentation to production.
• Design and implement agentic AI systems enabling multi-step reasoning, tool calling, memory management, and orchestration.
• Apply strong understanding of machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, neural networks, decision trees, and probabilistic models.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy ML/AI models while ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets, designing efficient data pipelines and storage strategies.
• Lead development of backend microservices and APIs supporting AI-driven applications.
• Ensure production readiness of AI systems including monitoring, optimization, security, and cost efficiency.
• Define cloud-native deployment strategies for AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Establish containerization standards using Docker and Kubernetes across development and production environments.
• Oversee database architecture, integrity, and performance across SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Implement monitoring and logging frameworks to improve observability and operational excellence.
• Lead development of AI-powered SaaS products within internal AI platforms.

Tactical & Cross-Team Leadership

• Act as a DRI for major architectural initiatives and technical blueprints.
• Own design documents, migration plans, and technical roadmaps.
• Drive incident triage and prioritization while coordinating with stakeholders.
• Serve as a maintainer/owner for critical repositories, services, and technology stacks.
• Mentor engineers through reviews, technical guidance, and career coaching.
• Break down large-scale initiatives into manageable execution plans and coordinate cross-functional delivery.
• Lead working groups focused on performance, APIs, security, and engineering standards.
• Represent engineering initiatives to leadership, including reliability status and resource planning.
• Participate in hiring processes, technical assessments, and interview design improvements.
• Contribute to Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging initiatives and mentorship programs.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience & Technical Skills

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with strong backend expertise in Python and exposure to Generative AI.
• Proven experience delivering AI/ML or Generative AI systems in production environments.
• Familiarity with GenAI frameworks such as LangChain, Google ADK, and other agent development kits.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent databases.
• Experience using AI-native engineering tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code in daily workflows.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in client-facing environments.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading technical teams is preferred.
