General Summary
- Design, architect, develop, and maintain Bluetooth software for connectivity products across multiple business segments, including Automotive, Mobile, Wearables and Voice & Music.
- Own and evolve core Bluetooth functionalities across host and controller, driving bug fixes, performance optimizations, scalability improvements, and feature enhancements across releases.
- Lead development of Bluetooth Classic and BLE features across host and controller in compliance with Bluetooth SIG specifications, while addressing custom product and customer-specific requirements.
- Drive end-to-end Bluetooth technology delivery, from initial platform bring-up through integration, qualification, and production release across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate closely with:
- Bluetooth Test and System Test teams to define validation strategies, review test coverage, and ensure robustness and quality.
- Customer Engineering teams to resolve complex customer issues, support integrations, and deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions.
- Own and drive cross-layer Bluetooth solutions spanning Host and Controller software, ensuring seamless interaction and end-to-end system correctness.
- Act as a technical authority for Bluetooth software, providing guidance on architecture, design tradeoffs, and long-term technical direction.
- Ensure quality, reliability, and compliance of Bluetooth software deliverables across multiple chipsets, platforms, and customer programs.
- Own and manage Bluetooth software releases across multiple platforms and domains, coordinating deliveries for diverse customer programs.
- Proven ability to work effectively in crossfunctional, distributed teams, managing technical deliverables in a fastpaced, customerdriven environment, including coordination across host, controller, test, and systems teams.
- Strong understanding of Bluetooth technology, including Bluetooth Host stack architecture, protocols (ATT, L2CAP, RFCOMM, SDP, LECOC etc.), and profiles (LE AUDIO, A2DP, HFP, AVRCP, HID etc.), with knowledge of controller/linklayer concepts and handson experience across both lower and upper layers.
- Solid understanding of RTOSbased systems and experience working with system and peripheral interfaces such as UART, USB, SPI, PCM/I2S, and related transports, including their use in HCI.
- Experience designing and developing software for multi-threaded and/or multi-process architectures, including synchronization, concurrency, and timing considerations.
- Hands-on experience with Bluetooth test and debug tools, including protocol analyzers/air sniffers (e.g., Ellisys, Frontline), Bluetooth PTS, and embedded debugging tools.
- Ability to correlate multisource logs (OTA, HCI, firmware, host, system logs) to rootcause complex interoperability, timing, and performance issues.
- Strong proficiency in C programming, with experience developing system-level or embedded software.
- Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, with the ability to apply them to real-world system and performance problems.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with experience developing efficient, reliable code for low-power, memory-constrained systems.
- Familiarity with Qualcomm chipsets and development environments.
- Working knowledge of Bluetooth audio and related subsystems.
- Proven record of owning and delivering Bluetooth software to customers.
- Experience with Bluetooth qualification, interoperability testing, or customer escalations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- Familiarity with kernel-level device drivers and low-level system debugging.
- Exposure to Android Bluetooth stack internals and ability to propose and implement architectural changes.
- Knowledge of Qualcomm chipsets and development environments.
