The service runs on a platform that integrates technology, logistics and content curation into a scalable system used by thousands of organizations.

We are now launching Bookster India bringing this proven product and technology stack into a new market that requires adaptation, localization and scaling.

About the role

This is a founding engineering role within Bookster India, integrated into the existing engineering team in Romania and reporting directly to the Romania Head of Tech.

Your primary mandate will be to deeply understand the existing platform its architecture, operational flows and business logic and contribute to replicating and adapting it for the Indian market.

In practical terms, you will:

• Design and build backend services in .NET deployed on Azure Cloud (core responsibility)
• Develop and maintain frontend components in React/Angular
• Contribute to system design and technical decisions around scalability, performance and reliability
• Work closely with the Romanian engineering team to ensure architectural consistency and code quality
• Identify and implement technical adaptations required for local integrations, compliance and operational workflows

You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy while contributing meaningfully to technical discussions and engineering decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong backend expertise in .NET / C#
• Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services (App Services, Azure SQL, Storage, etc.)
• Solid frontend experience with React or Angular
• Experience designing scalable, production-grade systems
• Strong understanding of APIs, data modeling and distributed systems
• Experience in product-oriented environments (not purely outsourcing)
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a distributed team
• Professional-level English

Nice to Have

• Experience scaling SaaS platforms
• Exposure to multi-tenant architectures
• Experience adapting software products to new geographic markets
• DevOps and CI/CD experience
• Prior involvement in hiring or mentoring engineers
