Staff Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & System Design:

• Lead the design and architecture of major features and complex projects, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Create and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents including system architecture, API contracts, database schemas, and component interactions.
• Identify and manage technical debt, define strategic technical roadmaps, and advocate best practices across engineering teams.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for troubleshooting and resolving complex production issues in distributed systems.

Cloud Proficiency & DevOps:

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and leverage IaaS/PaaS services for resilient, cost-optimized infrastructure.
• Utilize containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) for scalable deployments.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, following DevOps best practices.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.

Engineering Excellence & Mentorship:

• Write production-ready, high-performance, well-tested, and maintainable code in Python, Go, Java, C#, or similar languages.
• Conduct code and design reviews to ensure high code quality and architectural integrity.
• Mentor and coach senior and mid-level engineers on system design, problem-solving, and engineering best practices.

Desired / Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect/Developer, Google Professional Cloud Architect/Developer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Prior experience in Staff or Principal Engineer roles.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
