Staff DevOps Engineer

Job Description

EIC is seeking a talented Staff DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead the design, implementation, and management of CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scripting/coding, hands-on experience with Linux-based systems, and a proven track record with Harness, Git, and Kubernetes.

This Position is only for PST day time support means, IST night shift from 10pm to 7am IST.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes across multiple business units.
  • Develop and manage Harness CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Build, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Automate production deployments and manage deployment workflows for high availability and scalability.
  • Drive process and quality improvements by identifying opportunities for automation and implementing best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with onsite and offshore teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues during crisis situations with strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Stay current with emerging DevOps tools and technologies, proactively learning and applying new solutions.
  • Champion AI-powered developer tooling across the engineering organization, including AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot), automated code review, and AI-driven CI/CD optimization.
  • Design and operate agentic AI workflows that automate complex, multi-step DevOps tasks using MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations, LLM-powered agents, and orchestration frameworks.
  • Govern AI tool adoption by establishing security, privacy, and compliance guardrails for AI integrations, ensuring responsible use aligned with corporate policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles.
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools, especially Harness, and version control systems like Git.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Linux-based systems and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with distributed teams is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and developer tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) in a production engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI concepts and frameworks (e.g., MCP, LangChain, AutoGen, or similar), including experience building or integrating AI agents into DevOps or engineering workflows.
  • Experience with AI-powered code review, test generation, or security scanning tools (e.g., CodeRabbit, GitHub Advanced Security, Qwiet AI, or similar).
  • Understanding of AI governance, prompt engineering best practices, and responsible AI usage policies in an enterprise context.
