This is a senior, hands-on technical role that combines deep cloud networking expertise with architectural leadership, infrastructure-as-code discipline, and close collaboration with platform, security, and application teams.
In this role, you will own critical parts of our cloud networking strategy, influence architectural standards, and mentor other engineers while remaining deeply involved in design and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of cloud network infrastructure in AWS and Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Design and operate complex AWS networking constructs including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPNs, Route 53, ALB/ELB, security groups, and Cloud WAN-based architectures.
- Design and implement Azure networking solutions including VNets, peering, gateways, load balancers, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity.
- Build and maintain cloud network infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, including reusable modules, standards, and automated workflows.
- Partner with Security, SRE, Platform, and Application teams to enable secure, resilient, and performant network designs.
- Define and enforce networking best practices, architectural patterns, and operational standards across cloud environments.
- Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, routing policies, and segmentation to protect against internal and external threats.
- Configure, operate, and enhance F5-based VPN and remote access solutions supporting a global workforce.
- Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues across cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid‑level engineers through design reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation, supporting production environments and driving root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in network engineering, with significant hands-on experience in cloud networking.
- Deep expertise in AWS networking, including hybrid and multi‑account network architectures.
- Practical experience designing and operating Azure network infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
- Expert understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and MPLS.
- Strong experience with network and application-layer firewalls, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise VPN solutions, such as F5, Ivanti (Pulse Secure), Cisco, or Palo Alto.
- Solid knowledge of cloud security principles and experience implementing security policies in cloud environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
- Experience supporting multi‑region, multi‑cloud, or large‑scale SaaS environments.
- Experience working closely with SRE or platform engineering teams.
Working Hours & Availability
- Participation in an on‑call rotation is required.
- Candidates based in India should be available for approximately one hour in the evening, twice per week (Monday-Thursday) to collaborate with US‑based teams:
- March-October: 9:00-10:00 PM IST
