About the Job: Application Engineer - Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS)
- The Spaces Engineering team at Google is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to lead the development, integration, and maintenance of complex enterprise systems within the Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) domain.
- This role requires a deep understanding of software development, application programming interface (API) development, and systems integration.
- As a key technical leader, you will drive innovation, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of REWS applications.
- Your work will directly impact Google's internal systems and help deliver world-class solutions for employees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12 years of experience in Java or Python.
- Experience in Software System Design, API Development, Enterprise Architecture Development, and Software Development Lifecycle.
- Experience with real estate management systems or integrated workplace management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Influencing stakeholders and driving consensus across teams.
- Knowledge of Google-wide technologies and methods, with the ability to leverage them in developing solutions for REWS.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development of internal solutions using custom front-end and back-end services to automate and enhance REWS business processes.
- Design and implement integration strategies to connect diverse systems and platforms, enabling seamless data flow and process automation.
- Define and enforce processes and solutions to ensure compliance with relevant controls and regulations, safeguarding data integrity and security within REWS applications.
- Own the entire lifecycle of integrating vendor-supplied applications, including system design, evaluation, recommendations, and implementation.
- Translate complex Googler needs and business requirements into comprehensive high-level technical specifications.
- Lead efforts to design and develop features that enhance the reliability and performance of REWS applications, ensuring they meet the scale and demands of Google.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across REWS and other functions to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
