Job Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced SSO Support Engineer to lead the setup of Single Sign-On (SSO) for applications using Azure Active Directory. The candidate should have strong knowledge and working experience with SSO protocols. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience setting up Single Sign On with Azure. Strong communication skills mandatory since the candidate will work independently with various teams, across different geographies, to implement and support SSO solutions, ensuring seamless and secure access across systems and applications.

Requirements:

  1. An in-depth understanding of SSO (such as SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect 1.0, how applications are integrated into SSO, how SSO is secured between IDP and application, the idea of an attribute contract, etc.)
  2. Experience of onboarding applications into SSO on any identity provider
  3. Basic to moderate knowledge of application user stores and application authorization models, including username attributes and how applications find the correct user account to sign in when an SSO transaction arrives.
  4. Basic to moderate knowledge of application deployment & best practices (hosting, DNS, SSL, session cookies, etc.)
  5. Basic to moderate knowledge of Active Directory as a user store (Users and Computers, groups, attributes, etc.)
  6. Web-application troubleshooting experience (browser tracing, reading and interpreting errors, log review, etc.)
  7. Working knowledge of SCIM for automated user provisioning and deprovisioning between identity providers and applications.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and implement SSO capabilities effectively.
  9. Serve as the primary point of contact for SSO-related initiatives, providing expertise and guidance on best practices.
  10. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to authentication, authorization, and access control in SSO environments.
  11. Conduct regular audits and assessments of SSO configurations to enhance security and compliance.
  12. Communicate and coordinate with different teams to ensure smooth implementation and maintenance of SSO solutions.
  13. Document SSO setup processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.

The following items would be good to have skills in this position:

  1. Specific experience with using Azure as an identity provider
  2. Script-based language development experience (especially PowerShell)
  3. Experience using Azure's preview SAML attribute mapper tool to federate AD attributes out to Azure-integrated SSO applications
  4. Experience with change management processes in ServiceNow
  5. Experience with writing or editing communications to users
  6. Hands-on experience implementing SCIM integrations with SaaS applications or custom endpoints
