Job Description

We are building an enterprise-grade, cloud-native Fiber Deployment Management Platform—an operating system for telecom, broadband, and utility companies to manage end-to-end fiber construction programs.

The platform will replace spreadsheets, disconnected tools, and manual tracking with a centralized system covering:

• Program & Project Management (Multi-tenant)
• OSP Construction Workflows (Aerial / Underground)
• Permitting, Make-Ready & Vendor Coordination
• Financial Tracking, Invoicing & PO Management
• GIS Integration (Route Mapping, Geo-tagging & Heat Maps)
• Mobile Field Access (Offline Sync, Photo Uploads & Task Updates)
• Executive Dashboards & Real-Time Reporting

We are looking for a senior technical professional to architect and build the core platform from the ground up while working closely with product owners and domain experts.

Role Overview

As a Senior Full-Stack Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of the platform. You will define the architecture, select appropriate cloud services, build reusable APIs and develop the frontend experience.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will help shape the technical foundation and mentor other engineers as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Design a scalable, multi-tenant microservices architecture or modular monolith deployed on AWS / Azure / GCP.
• Define database schemas using PostgreSQL with PostGIS for geospatial queries and TimescaleDB for time-series metrics.
• Architect REST and GraphQL APIs with JWT/OAuth2 and SSO readiness.

Full-Stack Development

• Build frontend applications using React, Next.js (App Router) and Tailwind CSS.
• Develop backend services using Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript.
• Implement real-time features using WebSockets / Server-Sent Events for live dashboards and notifications.

GIS & Mapping Integration

• Integrate mapping solutions such as Mapbox, Google Maps or ESRI ArcGIS.
• Build interactive route visualizations, GPS track imports and geo-tagged photo layers.

Workflow & Automation

• Design a flexible workflow engine supporting custom approval chains, task escalations, SLA timers and phase transitions:
• Planning
• Engineering
• Permitting
• Construction
• QA/QC
• Closeout

Mobile & Field Enablement

• Oversee the mobile companion application with offline-first data synchronization.
• Enable field technicians to update tasks, upload photos and submit QA/QC checklists in low-connectivity areas.

DevOps & Deployment

• Set up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions / GitLab CI.
• Implement containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes / ECS.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Establish automated disaster recovery and backup strategies.

Security & Compliance

• Implement RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) at both API and UI levels.
• Ensure SOC 2-ready architecture with encryption, audit logging and secure API key management.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead / architectural role.
• Strong expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript and modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind / Shadcn.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js with NestJS or Express.
• Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge, including complex queries, indexing and partitioning.
• Experience with PostGIS / spatial extensions is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, ECS) or Azure/GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating GIS/mapping SDKs such as Mapbox, Google Maps or ESRI.
• Experience working with geospatial data such as GeoJSON and shapefiles.
• Knowledge of React Native or willingness to oversee mobile development.
• Understanding of offline synchronization strategies.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and work collaboratively with product and engineering teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

Domain Knowledge

• Experience in telecom, OSP (Outside Plant) fiber construction, utility infrastructure or similar field service management domains.

Analytics / BI

• Experience embedding Power BI, Superset or similar analytics/dashboarding platforms.

Data Migration

• Experience building ETL pipelines for large Excel datasets involving projects, vendors, invoices and tasks, including validation and deduplication.

Project Templates

• Experience building dynamic form engines or project template systems similar to SiteTracker, Procore or ServiceNow.
