About the role

YourHappyLife is looking for a young, hungry, highly creative Videographer + Video Editor who understands what makes short-form content actually move. This is not a traditional videography role. We need someone who can shoot fast, think natively for Instagram, understand trends without becoming cringe, and create high-quality content with speed, taste, and strong execution.

This person should be able to take an idea from concept to final cut. That means understanding hooks, storyboarding, framing, lighting, sound, pacing, transitions, retention, captions, and platform-native editing. They must know how to make content feel premium, relevant, and alive, even on lean budgets and tight timelines.

Most importantly, this person must own a high-quality camera and know how to use it well. This is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Shoot high-quality video content for Instagram Reels, ads, founder content, brand campaigns, product videos, testimonials, behind-the-scenes content, and educational content.

Edit short-form and long-form videos with strong pacing, retention logic, and premium visual quality.

Storyboard and pre-visualize shoots so content is planned, not random chaos in 4K.

Understand and execute platform-native content styles, especially for Instagram.

Work closely with founder, brand, performance, and content teams to turn ideas into shootable content formats

Bring trend awareness into execution while keeping the brand premium and differentiated.

Independently handle camera setup, framing, lighting, basic audio capture, and on-ground production.

Create multiple cuts, versions, hooks, and edit variations from one shoot for organic and performance use.

Manage footage efficiently, maintain project files properly, and ensure quick turnaround times.

Continuously improve creative quality by studying high-performing creators, brands, and editing styles.

Be resourceful and deliver maximum output with minimum wastage of time, money, and production effort.

Requirements

2 to 5 years of relevant experience in videography and editing for social media, D2C brands, creators, or content-first businesses.

Must own a high-quality camera. This is non-negotiable.

Must be strong at both shooting and editing.

Must have a strong eye for composition, lighting, product framing, and visual storytelling.

Must understand Instagram Reels deeply, including hooks, retention, trend adaptation, pacing, subtitle rhythm, and edit styles that work.

Must be fast, organized, proactive, and comfortable in a high-ownership environment.

Must be able to work with minimal hand-holding.

Must have a portfolio that shows strong taste, energy, and platform understanding.

Must be comfortable shooting founders, products, lifestyle content, talking-head videos, and quick-turn campaign content.

Preferred

Experience with wellness, beauty, skincare, supplements, fashion, creator-led brands, or D2C brands.

Experience with founder-led content and performance creatives

Ability to direct talent during shoots.

Understanding of motion graphics, sound design, color correction, and basic animation.

Good instinct for what feels current versus what feels stale and overcooked.
