MISSION
Alegeus is seeking a Senior/Principal UX Designer in Bangalore to serve as a senior individual contributor and strategic UX partner. This role focuses on designing enterprise-scale fintech and healthcare products, collaborating closely with India-based product and engineering teams, and partnering with UX leadership in the US. The ideal candidate is an experienced designer who combines strong hands-on craft with systems thinking, operational awareness, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams, while using modern tools, including AI and automation, to work efficiently and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
Deliver Trusted, High-Quality UX
- Produce thoughtful, high-quality design work across flows, wireframes, prototypes, interaction models, and content direction.
- Lead by example in design craft, demonstrating strong judgment, clear rationale, and user-centered decision-making.
- Facilitate inclusive and productive design critiques and working sessions that encourage diverse perspectives and constructive feedback.
- Reduce friction across design-to-engineering workflows by clarifying ownership, improving handoffs, and aligning expectations.
- Advocate for user needs while balancing business goals, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements.
Provide UX Leadership Across Products
- Act as the primary UX partner for India-based product and engineering teams, serving as a bridge between local teams and global UX leadership.
- Translate strategic UX priorities into actionable plans for execution at the team level.
- Represent UX effectively in product, technical, and planning discussions.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to align roadmaps, define success criteria, and communicate progress across geographies.
- Collaborate with the Head of UX and the DesignOps Lead to evolve processes, tools, and standards that improve speed, quality, and consistency.
Leverage AI & Automation Thoughtfully
- Use AI tools in your day-to-day workflow to improve efficiency, exploration, and productivity (e.g., research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, documentation).
- Bring experience or strong interest in incorporating AI and digital automation into product experiences, workflows, or internal systems.
- Help teams evaluate where AI can responsibly enhance user value, decision-making, or operational efficiency—while remaining mindful of trust, transparency, and accessibility.
Enable Global Collaboration & Change
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with India-based product and engineering leaders.
- Facilitate collaboration across time zones with sensitivity to distributed and hybrid work dynamics.
- Ensure accessibility, edge cases, and diverse user needs are considered early in the product lifecycle.
- Help teams navigate constraints pragmatically while maintaining a strong focus on outcomes and user value.
Education/Experience
- 10+ years of experience in UX, product design, or interaction design.
- Proven experience designing complex or enterprise-scale products.
- Strong collaboration skills with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Strong ability to problem-solve around constraints, tactfully voice concerns and trade-offs, and contribute to thorough documentation and communication.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams and time zones.
- Advanced proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma).
- Experience using research and analytics to inform design decisions.
- Working knowledge of design systems, responsive design, and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Portfolio demonstrating strong data-driven design, information architecture, problem-solving, and user impact.
ROLE-BASED COMPETENCIES
- Experience in fintech, healthcare, SaaS, or other regulated industries.
- Experience designing AI-enabled or automation-driven features or platforms.
- Experience using AI within design workflows for speed and efficiency.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
- Familiarity with Agile product development environments (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Experience designing dashboards, workflows, or data-rich interfaces.
- Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS).
