Role Summary:
This role focuses on building, scaling, and managing physical design competency across global teams. The leader will spearhead talent development, support recruitment and evaluation, and establish a training ecosystem to enable delivery success. Ideal for leaders passionate about people development, training frameworks, and building technical depth at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Development and Skilling
- Establish a Physical Design Academy with labs, hands-on projects, certification programs, and mentoring.
- Build, manage and deliver comprehensive PD learning roadmap. Design and deliver training modules, bootcamps across fresher, junior, and mid-level engineers
- Monitor competency health via regular assessments and scorecards.
Recruitment and Evaluation
- Collaborate with talent acquisition to source and interview high-quality PD candidates.
- Drive screening frameworks and technical evaluation panels for hiring across experience levels.
- Maintain skill matrices and ensure bench readiness with trained and deployable engineers.
Delivery Support
- Support delivery teams in profile shortlisting, role mapping, and technical interviews.
- Coordinate PD competency availability planning in alignment with business demand forecasts.
- Support transition and ramp-up with just-in-time training or upskilling for deployed engineers.
Practice Operations
- Define KPIs and metrics for competency growth, bench utilization, training coverage, and quality of hiring.
- Collaborate with engineering leads and HR to identify career progression pathways.
Work Experience
Skills & Experience Required:
- 12–20 years of experience in VLSI physical design domain.
- Proven experience in team building, training development, and technical recruitment.
- Strong fundamental and has worked on complete physical design flows and tools (Synthesis, PD, STA, & Signoff)
- Have hands-on experience and have lead teams to successful tapeouts on advance tech nodes.
- Experience in establishing or running a training center / CoE in a VLSI services or captive setting.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills
