Senior Technical Engineer (WiFi, Firewall) / NOC & Command Center Support
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as L3 escalation point for complex WiFi and firewall incidents impacting production.
- Lead P1/P2 major incident bridges and ensure fast triage, RCA inputs, and service restoration.
- Manage and troubleshoot enterprise WiFi solutions including controller/AP health, RF optimization, and authentication.
- Administer and troubleshoot next-gen firewalls including policy management, NAT, VPN, and threat analysis.
- Perform packet captures, log analysis, and deep-dive investigation for multi-domain issues.
- Execute high-risk changes with accurate MOPs, rollback steps, and post-change validation.
- Monitor WiFi and firewall platforms using tools such as Prime, ClearPass, Panorama, or similar.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity analysis, and periodic service health checks.
- Collaborate with TDT, TIM, NOC, security, vendors, and customer teams for service continuity.
- Maintain accurate SOPs, KEDB articles, configuration documents, and audit-ready records.
Skills And Qualifications
- Strong expertise in enterprise WiFi platforms (Cisco WLC, Aruba Mobility) and RF technologies (802.11 standards).
- Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD).
- Good understanding of authentication (802.1X/RADIUS), NAC/ISE, VPN/IPSec, and security fundamentals.
- Knowledge of routing, switching, and network troubleshooting principles.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools and centralized management platforms.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead technical bridges and manage high-pressure incident situations.
- Strong documentation discipline and adherence to ITIL processes.
- 7–12 years of WiFi/firewall/network operations experience in enterprise environments.
- Preferred certifications: CCNP (Wireless/Security), NSE4/NSE5, PCNSA/PCNSE, CWNP, ITIL Foundation.
